Brian Wilson Midway through Tour - New Box Features 60 Unreleased Tracks

Paramount Theater, Oakland, CA and sellout crowd of 3,000+ await the Brian Wilson and group

Another legend, Bill Medley of Righteous Brothers fame, visited Wilson at Greek Theature, Los Angeles show, the night before Oakland. Wilson's daughter, Carly, was also on hand, according to Wilson's website http://www.brianwilson.com/

JUST BACK from Brian Wilson's Oakland show 10-22 at legendary, art deco  Paramount Theater. SEE PICTURE, As usual, great, great show, though I missed the beginning as Wilson was OPENING act for Jeff Beck! I came expecting Beck on first (and I'm not a big fan of his, to behonest); They called this the 'odd couple' billing of Bech and Wilson. Wilson, whose current group includes original Beach Boys Al Jardine and David Marx, says he feels 'in the groove' when he gets on stage and more the 22 year old Beach Boy than the 70 year old Beach man. Wilson appears in fine fetter these days; he's come along way from the effects of a difficult childhood not to mention the loss of his  two Beach Boy brothers. New 'Made In California' box set is out and more colaborative albums planned  Http://OldiesCountry.com, according to Brian's website http://www.brianwilson.com/news/   New Box Features 60 Unreleased Tracks:

Wilson and group  reminded us of a well-seasoned sports team, cranking it up  as the show progressed with each successive hit outdoing the previous. From Help Me Ronda, about the sixth song in, the crowd was on its collective feet, never to be off them again with finishing act including  'I Get Around,' '  Fun Fun, Fun' and , of course 'Good Vibratons ' to close the show. No encore this night, perhaps due to time constraints with the closing act, Jeff Beck. Accoding to Wilson website ( http://www.brianwilson.com/news/)  Aproximately or exactly 17 members are in Wilson's current touring band, including Marx and Jardine, along with a guy who looks like the lead guitarist from Papa Doo Run Run, which we reviewed earlier in year in  these pages
