Who says oldies music isnt the best orbmost popular music- at least in Los Angeles. Music over 60 years old is outpacing all other more modern genres . K-earth radio KRTH is currently in #1 position with a 6.4 share of audience listening, well ahead of #2 KLOS. Oldies (1950s/60s/70s music) appeals to all age groups, so don't let anyone call you an 'old fogie' fornlistening to thr likes of Elvis and the Beatles.
Of course other cities, like San Francisco, don't even have an oldies station. But then there's always internet or satellite radio like Sirius XM where you can even pick your niche oldies like 50sGold or 60sGold or even 40sJunction or Elvis Radio or Beatles radio or Neil Diamond radio, etc.
More businesses also play oldies as background music morenthan any other format
